The treatment process typically begins with a personalized consultation to assess your specific skincare needs. Prior to the procedure, a topical anesthetic cream is applied to your skin to ensure your comfort. Your skin is then cleansed to prepare for the Tixel ® treatment.
The treatment takes about 30 minutes, during which tiny micro-channels are created in a grid-like pattern on your skin. A healing serum is then applied to help it absorb through the micro-channels.
After the treatment, your skin may appear red and feel warm, like a light sunburn. This typically lasts for 2-3 hours. The skin may continue to appear slightly red and swollen for the first 1-2 days, and in some individuals with sensitive skin, redness may persist for several weeks. Mild pinpoint crusting is common and usually appears within a few days, lasting anywhere from several days to a few weeks. Generally, we advise allowing for at least one week of potential downtime. Makeup can be applied to the treated area after 48 hours.
