Fine Line & Wrinkle Reducer
Xeomin is an injection for intermuscular use similar to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults. Xeomin contains botulinum toxin type A, a protein purified from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. When squinting or frowning, the muscles between your brows contract, causing the skin to furrow and fold. As you age, your skin loses its elasticity, and repeated contractions of your forehead muscles can create persistent frown lines. Trouvaille Med Spa uses Xeomin to prevent muscle fibers in your forehead from contracting. Botulinum toxin type A is the active ingredient in Xeomin, and it acts on nerve endings in muscles to counteract this contracting. The reduction of muscle contractions in your forehead allows Xeomin to reduce lines on your forehead between your brows temporarily.
During your appointment at Trouvaille Med Spa, one of our highly skilled Nurse Injectors will assess your areas of concern. Then you will be injected with Xeomin into those areas. The procedure itself lasts about 10-15 minutes and you’ll be on our way. Results are visible anywhere from 7-14 days with results lasting up to 3 months.
If you are starting to see fine lines, you can use this treatment before they become wrinkles.
Despite being less widely known than Botox, tens of thousands of people have already benefited from this treatment. Worldwide, over 50 countries have started offering it.
Patients enjoy the results of this treatment for at least 3-4 months. Many people report that it is effective for almost twice as long.
Almost anyone who wants to achieve an improvement in their wrinkles can safely use this treatment. It is effective on both men and women, and it can be used to treat most skin types.
Xeomin is ideal for adults seeking to reduce the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. They are suitable for individuals who prefer a treatment free from additives, as Xeomin contains only the botulinum toxin type A without any accessory proteins. This makes it a good option for those who may have developed a resistance to other neurotoxins. Candidates should be in good overall health, not pregnant or breastfeeding, and have realistic expectations about the results.
Before getting Xeomin, it is essential to follow a few guidelines to ensure optimal results and minimize potential side effects. Avoid alcohol consumption and anti-inflammatory medications, such as aspirin and ibuprofen, for at least 24 hours before the procedure, as these can increase the risk of bruising. Inform your practitioner Injector about any medications or supplements you are taking, as well as any medical conditions you have. Additionally, avoid scheduling the treatment if you have any active skin infections or irritations in the area to be treated.
After receiving Xeomin, it’s important to follow specific aftercare guidelines to ensure optimal results and minimize any potential side effects. Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours to prevent the spread of the toxin. Refrain from lying down or bending over for at least four hours post-treatment. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol consumption, and exposure to heat (such as hot showers or saunas) for 24 hours. It’s also recommended to avoid any facial treatments, like facials or massages, for a few days after.
The ideal time to start getting Xeomin varies depending on individual needs and goals. Many people begin treatments in their late 30s to early 40s as a preventative measure to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. However, Xeomin can also be effective for older individuals who want to address existing wrinkles and lines. It’s best to consult with a qualified med spa specialist who can assess your skin condition and recommend the appropriate timing and frequency of treatments based on your specific needs.
Results from Xeomin typically start to become visible within three to four days after the treatment. The full effect is usually seen within seven to ten days. The duration of results can vary, but most patients enjoy the benefits for about three to four months before needing a follow-up treatment.
Xeomin is generally well-tolerated, with most people experiencing minimal side effects. Some individuals may notice mild discomfort or minor reactions at the injection site, such as slight bruising. It’s important to consult with a healthcare professional to ensure Xeomin is a suitable treatment option for you.
